Roshni Nadar Malhotra, the 38-year-old daughter and only child of billionaire Shiv Nadar, took charge as the chairperson of HCL Technologies, becoming the first woman to head a publicly traded IT firm.
Roshni, whose husband Shikhar Malhotra also works at HCL, is a mum of two and deeply involved in social work much like her father.
Hugely private, Roshni made her social media debut after last weekend’s announcement. She says she especially wants to see more female roles in the workplace. Instead of work-life balance, she talks of “work-life choice”.
“There are some days that work becomes more important, and some days that elements outside work become more important,” she states.
