Ilapavuluri Death, A Loss To Telugu States

Ilapavuluri Death, A Loss To Telugu States

Senior journalist, Ilapavuluri Murali Mohan Rao, is no more. He died on Sunday evening after spending the whole day with his family at the Kothapatnam Beach in Prakasam district.

The death came silently as he had no signs of pain or no complaint. He neither had any medical record nor had ever complained of cardiac problems.

Ilapavuluri, as he is more popular, was very clear in his political analysis and never tried to please his rivals.

He had strong likes for Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

He did not spare the critics of KCR and Jagan and never accepted the criticism on these two leaders.

His analysis had always been ahead of others and was close to reality. His writings were clear and straight.

His presentation was never a beating around the bush and always called spade a spade.

His latest and perhaps the last article on Marri Sasidhar Reddy joining the BJP was a clear message to the BJP.

While recognising the leadership qualities of late Dr Marri Chenna Reddy, the journalist termed Sasidhar Reddy as a hopeless leader.

He was an author of about 250 stories, 6 serial novels, a little over 1500 articles in various journals. He also translated over 20 stories into Kannada, which shows his proficiency in that language.

He used to give the other side of the stories of the Telugu media, which are politically biased and motivated.

His loss at a time the two states are heading for general elections is a great loss to the people of the Telugu states, as they would be missing his political analysis during the electoral battle.
