It's an overwhelmingly sad, traumatic situation for Mounika who lost her entire family in a tragic head on car accident involving another car near to Lubbock, Texas on late Friday (November 27) while they were en-route to New Mexico. in which she lost her parents and only sibling Bharath Gouni at the spot of accident and she is suffering from severe injuries. There were two other people critically injured as well.
Mounika’s current condition is critical and has multiple fractures all over body. Main concern is her neck & spinal injuries. Currently her lower body is paralyzed and cannot feel or move her legs. Doctors cannot tell anything on that right now. She got an MRI, but neurologists are planning on next procedures.
Another major injury is her femur facture, she went through that operational procedure on 11/29/2020 which went fine. She also got damages to chest structure and have broken ribs on both sides.
She has been closely monitored on internal bleeding and vital organs. As of now what we have been told that there will be more than few weeks of hospitalization followed by months of rehabilitation.
Mounika who is a PHD student and lives with her younger brother Bharath Gouni (Software engineer) working in IntelliCentrics, Texas. Due to VISA restrictions they never got time to spend time with their parents from last 5 years. So, they want to take advantage of this pandemic situation and invited their mother and father to USA as they wanted to utilize Bharath’s WFH and spend time together with family.
Mounika’s father Narsimha Reddy Gouni and her mother Laxmi Gouni travelled to USA by taking break from his regular job as Telangana RTC employee and reached USA for the very first time. He is noble, kindhearted and Laxmi Gouni is sweet and always welcomes friends & family with open heart who loves to feed everyone. They were happy with achievements of his son and daughter but sadly lost their lives in this devastating accident.
As we all know medical treatments are too expensive in USA and limitations of coverage for visitor’s visa Insurance. We are here at go fund me to raise funds for Mounika medical expenses and her family’s end of life rituals which we are planning in Dallas, TX and if any remaining funds will be used for Mounika’s recoup from this tragedy.
