On November 7th, three soldiers and an army officer sacrificed their lives, while fending off a brutal terrorist attack in one of the fiercest encounters this year in the Machil sector of Jammu & Kashmir.
The tragedy struck close to home for me as one of the fallen heros is a relative and a native of of my village in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Nothing can pacify the grief-stricken families but maybe we can show a small token of appreciation and salute the heroes by contributing financially to their families in every way possible.
I have started this fundraiser to help raise funds for the family of one of the fallen heros, havildar Praveen Kumar.
About Havildar Praveen:
Hav Praveen, 37, is the only son of Prathap Reddy and Sugunamma. Coming from a family of army jawans, inspired by his own father and many other members of the family, Praveen joined the Indian army eighteen years back and served in the Madras regiment.
He was also a part of National Security Guard (NSG) commando group which is an elite counter-terrorism unit under the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs. He is survived by his wife Rajitha and two kids, eight year old daughter and five year old son (add their names)

I've started this campaign in support of Havildar Praveen's family. The money raised will be used to fund the education of his kids and securing the future of his family.
