Marriage portal, idontwantdowry.com, dedicated to the eradication of dowry system, rocked the entire state yesterday (Sunday, 23 rd Sep). The dotcom has conducted a 'swayamvaram' for the grooms and brides at Ravindra Bharathi. About 500 candidates from different parts of the state have come there. Among them, almost 200 have become registered users. The platform has also turned like a pre-engagement dais for many.
Idontwantdowry.com was started 18 months ago and now the profiles of about 5400 candidates are available in it.
Satya Naresh, the founder of the portal said, "We want to see the dowry-free marriages in India . We work towards that goal".
The antagonism on dowry system was seen among many grooms in this program. Majority of participants in this event are educated, IT professionals and doctors of medicine. Entire media from Eenadu Andhra Jyothi, MAA TV, ETV, ZEE TV and all covered this great event that has an idea of social reform.
