TACO Triumphs new heights in 2023: A Year of Exemplary Achievements In 2023, TACO (Telugu Association of Central Ohio), President Mr. Rajeev Reddy with his 100+ enthusiastic EC team members, embarked on a journey that showcased unparalleled dedication and accomplishment. The year was marked by a series of events and initiatives that left an indelible mark on the Indian diaspora, fostering service, celebration, and empowerment.
TACO's cultural Vice-President Swetha Priyanka Reddy and her team’s commitment to excellence shone brightly in its flawless execution of cultural events throughout the year. Every event unfolded with impeccable precision, a true testament to her unwavering planning and execution. The year was nothing short of a phenomenal, and the team deservedly celebrated the seamless orchestration of cultural festivities. The cultural events hosted by TACO were nothing short of spectacular, with over 500+ talented kids taking the stage in an event to showcase their skills cherished by proud parents and encouraged by Telugu community. Most of the choreography team consisted of empowered women who worked tirelessly and happily throughout the year.
TACO’s sports leadership Hari Kakarla & Satya Marre with their team made significant strides in the realm of sports; cricket tournament was organized with a staggering 40 cricket teams. In a groundbreaking move, a separate day was dedicated to women's cricket, underlining the importance of gender equality in sports; Kudos to Pitt-Ultimate, the women’s team that drove all the way from Pittsburg to participate TACO Cricket. Another key feather is dedicating a separate day for Kid’s Cricket tournament to promote and nourish the game of Cricket in future generations. The introduction of Pickleball and the resounding success of Badminton further diversified TACO's sports portfolio, engaging participants of all ages and interests.
At the heart of TACO's success was the Youth Mentorship Committee, which was the brainchild of President Rajeev, a dynamic force dedicated to shaping the leaders of tomorrow. This Youth Mentorship Committee was headed by Dr. Ram Revur and his team comprises of talented professionals. Through their thoughtful guidance and support, the committee played a pivotal role in nurturing the potential of young minds, paving the way for a brighter future. They have organized a program called “Meet and Learn from successful Professionals/ Entrepreneurs of Columbus”, where all the youth committee members had an opportunity to interact with few professionals and learn from them. The mission was to empower the young minds by providing them with valuable guidance and inspiration as they embark on their journey towards becoming a good citizen and fulfilling career path.
TACO set the bar high for hospitality and this year TACO Food VP, Sekhar Katta and his team has shown excellence in serving the community, with the picnic being the epitome of ultimate enjoyment. TACO made the impossible task possible by serving 1500+ guests Banthi bhojanalu style lunch flawlessly. From delectable food to surplus offerings, every TACO event became a culinary delight, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.
A strategic mindset and innovative approach by TACO's administrative Vice-President, Ramesh Yelisetti in all day in and day out decisions, magnificently propelled the entire team forward. Treasurers Kiran Bodumallu and Ravi Kargam ensured efficient and effective financial operations. TACO’s events Vice-President Siva Cheetirala along with Pradeep Guntaka, Keerthi Tarani, Pavan Adivi and others effectively navigated the complex landscape of event’s operation.
Another pioneering move from Mr. Rajeev Reddy was TACO's initiative to honor those who had made significant contributions to the community for so many years and richly felicitate 40+ selected dignitaries from multiple categories. This unique recognition emphasized TACO's commitment to acknowledging the individuals whose efforts had a lasting impact on the community, setting a precedent for future celebrations. Rajeev Reddy is sincerely thankful to his family, friends and all volunteers and sponsors whose contributions enabled TACO Triumph new heights in 2023.
