As many of you know that the big happening among the Indo-American community was Shri Anna Hazare visiting USA. Anna ji participated in the India-Day Parade in New York, which was recorded as one of the biggest among the India-Day parades in USA.
As part of his USA tour, NRI Samay hosted Anna ji in Los Angeles. Co-hosted and organized by People for Lok Satta(www.peopleforloksatta.org) LA chapter.
This Meet-n-Greet Dinner Event was supported by many local organizations and accredited NRIs in the vicinity.
While Anna ji in the Press meet, PFL volunteers played series of visuals on events organized – NRI Voting Rights-absentee voting facility,240 Miles Dandi March-II, Kill Corruption, Mock Jail-bharo, Anna ji supporting Rally, and few initiatives like RO Plant in Matlam, Save-RTI to over 300 audiences.
Anna ji said that Dandi March-2 shows the commitment and passion,Love of NRIs towards India.
Event organizers invited representatives from attended organizations and felicitated Anna ji. And as a unique gesture spouses of volunteers invited onto stage and appreciated for their relentless support and pains taken while volunteers were on road for the events.
Later Anna ji in his inspirational speech for about 40 min talked about electoral reforms (direct election of PM), condemned RTI amendments to exclude political parties, his next steps on anti-corruption movement and upcoming fasting in Ramleela Maidan fromOct 2nd. Also he urged NRIs to bring technology facet to these movements and help in using social media, internet extensively.
Later PFL volunteers explained to Anna ji about Dandi March – II and submitted NRI Voting Rights petition to Anna ji. Anna ji and USA tour coordinator Mr.Sachin multiple times said that – this is well organized event thus far in their USA tour and appreciated all volunteers.
