Telugu Desam Party legislator from Uravakonda in Anantapur district Payyavula Kesav on Saturday admitted to having met mining tycoon and former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, but denied of having business links with the latter.
Reacting strongly to YSR Congress party legislator G Gurunath Reddy’s allegations that Kesav had received kickbacks from Gali Janardhan Reddy, the TDP MLA said it was true that he had met Gali at a programme, where he had to sit beside the latter.
“But I had no interaction with Gali nor do I have any business relations with him. Just because I sat beside him does not prove that I had received kickbacks. It is a baseless allegation,” he said.
Interestingly, Kesav reminded that Gali had also happened to meet TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu at a meeting.
“That does not mean Gali had links with Naidu also. It is wrong to come to false conclusions based on such casual meetings. I am ready for any probe and I am prepared to swear it on Lord Ganesha of Kanipakam, if required,” Kesav said.
