Aggressive Kiran Regrets On 6th MLC Seat

Riding high on his latest success in defeating the no-confidence motion against his government, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has turned more aggressive, so much so that he has started finding fault with the high command for not allowing him to field the sixth candidate in the recent MLC elections.

Speaking to media in the assembly lobbies, the Chief Minister said the Congress would have easily got the sixth MLC seat had it fielded but for the rejection from the high command.

“The last night’s no confidence motion against my government has clearly established which party has how much strength. We had enough strength to win the sixth seat as well, but we decided against fielding the candidate in the best interest of democratic principles,” he said.

The chief minister said the Congress party was confident of facing the local body elections and achieving success.

“We will hold the elections in the last week of April or the first week of May. The local body elections reflect the people’s mandate to be delivered in the next assembly elections,” he said.
