Minister for Labour Danam Nagender on Thursday asserted that the Telugu Desam Party had given a clean chit to the Congress government in the state headed by chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
“That the TDP has not given the notice to move no-confidence motion against the government itself shows that it is satisfied with the performance of the chief minister and has confidence in him. So, there is no point in smaller parties moving the no-confidence motion; but still, we are confident that there is no threat to the government,” Nagender said.
At the same time, Nagender took pot shots at TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu for his continued tirade against the Congress government.
“One wonders why Naidu is going ahead with his padayatra, though he has proved that he has full confidence in the government,” he said.
The minister, however, denied the allegations that the Congress had a secret understanding with the TDP. “If there is any such understanding, the Congress will be the biggest loser,” Nagender said.
