The Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the YSR Congress party on Thursday issued notices to assembly secretary seeking to move no-confidence motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government accusing it of failing on all fronts.
While TRS could mobilise the signatures of 25 MLAs, including Telangana Nagara Samithi leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy, four CPI MLAs and three BJP members. On the other hand, YSR Congress party had submitted a separate notice with signatures of 18 MLAs, including a rebel TDP MLA Y Balanagi Reddy.
However, both the parties did not follow the rules for issuing notices; they are supposed to serve notices to the assembly secretary half an hour before the commencement of the session, so that Speaker Nadendla Manohar would raise it on the floor of the house accepting the notices. But, the TRS and YSR Congress served notices after the House got adjourned half an hour after the commencement of the session. So, the notices would become invalid and the Speaker might reject them outright.
They may have to give fresh notices later. Sources said if at all the Speaker accepts the notices, the discussion could take place only in May, when the assembly reassembles after a four-week recess.
