There was a time when Mani Ratnam was considered an ace director but today his situation has gone completely topsy turvy. According to the Chennai cine circles at one stage there were many producers who were always queuing up in front of Mani’s home trying to get his dates and book him.
 
But after the outcome of his recent movie ‘Kadali’ it is heard that not one producer is daring to go that side. Sources say if one has to get in touch with Mani Ratnam they first have to speak to his wife Suhasini Mani Ratnam. And even today though he doesn’t have any success, the same system is reportedly continuing.
 
This has discouraged many producers to keep Mani at a distance. Of course, this has not stopped Mani from working on his new project. But it has to be seen whether this new one will be good enough to bring back his lost glory. For now, the producers are not knocking his doors, as per sources.
