At a time when the Telugu Desam Party and the YSR Congress party are challenging each other to move no-confidence motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi has surprisingly come forward to take the initiative.
TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao, who chaired the TRS legislature party meeting at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, announced that his party would move the no-confidence motion in the assembly on the Telangana statehood issue and pull down the Kiran Kumar Reddy government. He said he had consulted the MIM, the CPI, the CPI (M), the BJP and independent member Nagam Janardhan Reddy. “The BJP and Nagam had agreed to support the motion,” he said.
The TRS president said the Congress had no moral authority to continue in power, as it had failed to stick to its promise to deliver Telangana statehood.
“We will expose the ruling party in the assembly on the Telangana issue and stall the proceedings. The TRS MLAs would also participate in the Sadak Bandh to be held on March 22,” he said.
