Actress-turned-Congress leader and Secunderabad MLA Jayasudha Kapoor has acted in haste when she announced that she would quit the Congress party, if the high command gives MLC ticket to her bitter rival and former Hyderabad Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy or her husband Banda Chandra Reddy.

This was the opinion expressed by majority of the Congress leaders in the state on Saturday. According to some unconfirmed reports, Jayasudha had even sent her resignation letter from the assembly seat and the party to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. “See, the party is yet to finalise the names of the candidates for the five MLC seats. Even if Karthika Reddy is given the MLC seat, it is too silly a reason for Jayasudha to quit the party, because Karthika would, in no way, be a hurdle for her re-election from Secunderabad seat. For, the party is much more important than individuals,” a senior Congress leader said.

By making an announcement on her exit from the party, Jayasudha has sent wrong signals to the party leadership. Now, there is every possibility for the party to suspect that she might be planning to go back into to Jagan camp. However, even the YSR Congress party may not be willing to accept her and she might end up nowhere in future!
