Telangana Joint Action Committee, which was planning to hold “Sadak Bandh” programme on Hyderabad-Bangalore national highway on February 24 to highlight the Telangana statehood demand, had to postpone the same, thanks to the bomb blasts at Dilsukhnagar on Thursday night.
TJAC steering committee, which had an emergency meeting on Friday morning, decided that the Sadak Bandh programme would be postponed as the state was gripped in a state of fear due to Dilsukhnagar blasts. “We will announce the date for the deferred programme later,” TJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram said.
Accusing the government and intelligence of failing to curb terror attacks, Kodandaram said it would have been better had the intelligence and the police department kept a watch on the movement of terrorists, rather than the Telangana activists. “The TJAC will organise a candle light rally on Tank Bund in the evening as a mark of condolence for the departed souls,” Kodandaram said.
