The twin blasts at Dilsukhnagar area in Hyderabad that killed more than 17 persons and injured 119 others rocked the entire nation, but as usual, the political parties have started indulging in blame game at a time when the focus is on providing utmost medical attention to the injured and instil confidence among the families of the victims.
The Bharatiya Janata Party was the first one to take political advantage of the situation by giving a call for state-bandh in protest against the bomb blasts. The BJP activists dominated the show on Thursday evening itself by organising protest demonstrations at the blast site when Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy visited the spot. They conducted rallies in different towns condemning the blasts and said ouster of the Congress was the only solution for these problems.
Telugu Desam Parrty president N Chandrababu Naidu suspended his Vasthunna Meekosam padayatra and visited the blast site and also victims in hospitals. He was quick to shift his gears and begin his rhetoric that he provided the best of administration and maintained law and order in the State. Though there was no communal violence during his regime, the Maoists had ruled the roost then and had even killed him almost.
Not to be outdone, the YSR Congress party leaders went on attacking the Congress government saying the law and order situation during the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy government was the best and it has now gone to dogs after his death. But they have forgotten that the Mecca Masjid blasts in which 17 people were killed on May 16, 2007 and Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat serial blasts which claimed 42 lives on August 25, 2007 happened during the YSR regime!
