It is not just the Seemandhra leaders who are jubilant over the statement of union minister and AICC in-charge of Andhra affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad extending the deadline indefinitely on the announcement of a decision on Telangana.
The man who was happier than the Seemandhra leaders was Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao.
According to sources in the TRS, KCR is learnt to have commented with his close associates on the day of Azad’s statement that the Centre’s indecisiveness had actually a blessing in disguise for the TRS. “Azad mana nethina paalu posindu..” (Azad anointed us with milk) was said to be his comment on that day.
Apparently, the TRS president does not want the Telangana state to be delivered instantly, because it would give extensive mileage to the Congress than the TRS. First of all, he expressed his anger on the day when Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had held all-party meeting, where majority of the parties expressed support to the Telangana formation. Obviously he thought if Telangana is given, the TRS would lose its significance and it would not get the expected number of seats in the next elections. And even if the TRS merges with the Congress, there would be no importance to KCR!
