T-Cong MPs Divided Over Future Plan

The Telangana Congress MPs, who are in a state of frustration with the party high command putting off its decision on the statehood issue, are totally confused as to what they should do in the coming days if the decision does not come in the near future.

As the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the Telangana Joint Action Committee are getting ready to re-launch the agitation in a big way, the Telangana Congress MPs appear to be a divided lot. At a meeting held at the residence of Nagarkurnool MP Manda Jagannatham on Friday, there were differences of opinions on their future course of action.

While some MPs have gone to the extent of saying that all the MPs should resign if the party refuses Telangana state, others expressed view that they should continue to remain in the party and bring pressure on the Centre. Some MPs like Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, S Rajaiah, Jagannatham and G Vivekanand have evinced interest in joining the TRS, the remaining three – Madhu Yashki Goud, Ponnam Prabhakar and Gutta Sukhender Reddy reportedly felt that joining the TRS would not solve the problem.

Instead, they have suggested that they should bring pressure on the Centre by boycotting the budget session of Parliament or float a new political outfit.

“Let us give some more time to the Centre before taking any harsh decision,” they felt.
