The woes of the small and short filmmakers has been on since quite a while but thanks to technology it looks like the good days are about to come. Apparently, talks are on about few TV channels getting into film production. The new rule has come from government that the channels digitalization has to be done completely through set top box.
Moreover, televisions with big screens and high resolutions are also coming. With the ‘Vishwaroopam’ incident the DTH format has come into strong discussions. With this, in future such films might be coming in TV and all those who have interest in entertainment would be opting to watch them at home.
Instead of buying films through satellite rights the TV Channels might as well make few films. Of course buying big hero films, it is always worthy but if they go through DTH for the other films also they will get only commission. So, what is the need to buy from here and there is the question which popped in many heads and what if the TV channels can produce movies directly.
In terms of the small budget moviemakers, they might get calls from these TV channels and they don’t have to search for traditional producers. So, no more headache will be there for getting theatres. Above all, if film is good then repeat telecast can be done and more business revenue could be generated.
