The Central Bureau of Investigation is blaming it on the state government for the delay in its investigation into the alleged illegal assets case of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, stating that the government was not cooperating with the agency in the probe. On this pretext, it wants to keep Jagan in the jail for an indefinite period.
The Constitution of India has given any person file a writ of mandamus in the court if the government fails to do its duty. Ironically, the CBI has not made any request with the Court to give directions to the government to cooperate with the agency in its investigation. Instead, it wants to take its own sweet time to drag the case as long as it can so that Jagan will not come out of jail in the near future.
The YSR Congress party has come down strongly against the government and the CBI for its dubious attitude in dealing with Jagan’s case.
“It is clearly evident that the Congress party with the connivance of the Telugu Desam Party and the CBI is trying to keep Jagan behind bars for an indefinite period. If the government is not cooperating with the CBI, how can it come to the conclusion that Jagan had committed to irregularities? Why can’t the CBI file cases against the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary for not extending cooperation in the investigation?” YSR Congress party official spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said.
Any answer?
