A leading Telugu daily carried the picture of the Seemandhra leaders led by maverick Vijayawada Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal with their faces beaming on Thursday. Obviously, they are jubilant for making the Congress high command stalling the Telangana process for now. On the other hand, the pictures of the Telangana Congress leaders are dull and disappointed.

But the question is how long the Seemandhra leaders can remain jubilant. They might have succeeded in their “Stall Telangana” mission, but can they stall the juggernaut of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy? Azad might be worried about the collapse of the Kiran Kumar Reddy government, if Telangana is given, but how long can he sustain the government. If not now, the fall of Kiran government in the coming few months will be inevitable. And all these leaders who brought pressure on the high command to stall Telangana would be swept away in the Jagan wave.

On the other hand, the fate of the Telangana Congress leaders is also no different. They are not in a position to show their faces to the people now while continuing in the Congress party. And as long as they continue in the Congress party, they would never win their seats, if Telangana is not granted. Many of them would have to look towards YSR Congress party or the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

And the state will continue to remain on the boil!
