Doordarshan, which had hitherto only channel in Telugu called “Saptagiri” is now launching its Telangana regional channel by name “Yadagiri.’ It will start its programmes from September 27.
Telangana State Chief Minister KCR has finalized the name of the channel for Telangana region, and suggested it to the Doordarshan authorities, following the State bifurcation. Droordarshan authorities informed that the ‘Yadagiri’ channel programmes would start from Septmber 27.
The Chief Minister has requested the Doordarshan authorities to give utmost preference to Telangana language, dialect, culture and traditions in the broadcasts.
