It is extremely difficult even for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLAs and other party leaders to meet party president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragati Bhavan, his camp office at Begumpet.
One has to wait for days together to get the appointment. If KCR doesn’t want to see a person, there is absolutely no access to him or her.
After his return from New Delhi on Monday night, KCR remained inaccessible even for senior most party leaders. Except his family members, nobody had the chance to meet him.
Only a few senior officials could go to him with important files to be cleared and to discuss the transfers of senior bureaucrats and IPS officers, besides discussing the agenda of the proposed cabinet meeting.
However, to the utter surprise of the political observers, a group of BJP legislators could get instant appointment to meet KCR at Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday afternoon. They just made a phone call to him and got a quick positive response.
One does not know what the BJP MLAs actually discussed with KCR, but officially, they went to him to submit a memorandum requesting for installation of the statue of former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee at a suitable place in the city. And the chief minister readily agreed for the same.
This is really surprising. Only last month, a group of BJP MLAs and leaders tried to meet KCR at Pragathi Bhavan to submit a similar representation asking for lifting of ban on Swami Paripoornananda.
The MLAs did not get the appointment of KCR and instead, when they came to Pragathi Bhavan, they were arrested.
Some others were kept under house arrest and the BJP leaders strongly protested the highhanded behaviour of the KCR government.
So, it was naturally surprising for the sudden affection shown by KCR towards the BJP leaders.
May be it is an indication to the latest bonhomie between the TRS and the BJP, in the wake of frequent meetings of KCR with Prime Minister Narendra Modi!
