Jai Lava Kusa -- The film is one of the hot topics under discussion this Dassera season. The film has been produced by Kalyan Ram under NTR Arts Banner, which is almost the home banner of NTR Jr.
Talk from the industry is that the film has been shot on a tight budget and that the makers pocketed nearly Rs 60 crore in profits. However, a check into the back story reveals that JLK did get good profits for the makers.
If one were to deduct the remuneration of NTR Jr, money spent on making and publicity, the banner is said to have made Rs 36 crore in all.
The latest talk is that the making of the film was a costly affair as it required 120 days of shoot. Also, since NTR Jr plays a triple role in the film, a good amount was spent on the graphics.
The entire graphics bit was handled by Hari and his company, who happens to be a close relative of Kalyan Ram. However, it is said that they charged per second for the graphics and that added up to quite a bit of money.
The team is also spending on publicity. Till now, they have spent Rs 20 lakh for FM ads. The print and audio-visual ads must have cost in crores. So, deducting all the costs, the makers have made Rs 36 crore.
With JLK, Kalyan Ram has recovered all the money he lost in the past. In fact, Kalyan Ram is well-off financially. However, no one wants losses. Now thanks to his half-brother NTR, Kalyan Ram is going home with profits.
